Special Care Unit

Featuring:

- Structured activity program designed to meet individual capabilities and interests.

- Higher staffing ratios to accommodate increased individual needs.

- An exceptionally dedicated staff educated in therapeutic behavioral interventions and communication techniques as well as the Alzheimer's disease process.

- A physical environment designed to enhance resident's quality of life by creating a safe and loving atmosphere. Enclosed courtyard offers opportunities for fresh air and sunshine.

Special Care Unit


The center's Special Care Unit is designed and programmed to meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer's Disease and related disorders.

Residents live in a safe, comfortable environment where they are treated with respect and dignity. Quality of life is promoted in a least restrictive, restraint proper, environment which allows for movement and maximum independence.

In addition to the individually tailored nursing care, each resident participates in therapeutic recreational programming which is specially designed for the dementia resident.

The activities are failure and frustration free, focusing on the needs and capabilities of residents with memory loss. They raise the resident's self-esteem and allow them to succeed while reducing the feelings of isolation and boredom.
